What the critics say about ATTIKA
If Attika had put this album out 35 years ago, you would have seen them on bills with Megadeth, Heathen, Lizzy Borden, Vicious Rumors, Sanctuary.
An unapologetic tour de force.

The ATTIKA story
Originally formed as Trilogy in 1983 in Melbourne, Florida, the band renamed themselves ATTIKA in 1985—vocalist Rob Van War adding the "K" inspired by Al Pacino's iconic "Attica! Attica!" cry from Dog Day Afternoon. Emerging during the golden age of American heavy metal, ATTIKA carved their own path with a sound that blended European power metal melody with American aggression and grit. Kerrang! Magazine awarded their 1988 debut the highest possible 5-K "Kolossal!" rating, and JAM! Magazine named them Florida's "Best Metal Band" in 1989.
Their self-titled debut album, originally released in 1988, became a sought-after collector's item and underground classic. The second album "When Heroes Fall," recorded in 1992, was shelved for decades before finally seeing the light of day with a proper release in 2019 — proving that great metal never dies, it just waits for the right moment to strike.
The band returned to the stage with blistering performances at Up The Hammers in Athens (2018) and Headbangers Open Air in Germany (2019), reminding the world that ATTIKA's flame had never been extinguished. In 2021, they released "Metal Lands" — eleven tracks of molten, thundering power metal that proved the fire burns hotter than ever.
Four decades in. The metal endures. The fire never dies.
